Executive Housekeeper / Household Assistant — Private Residence
Location: Palm Beach, FL
Position: Full-Time, Year-Round
Start Date: November 2026
Compensation: $40–$50+/hour DOE + Stipend for the Right Candidate
Schedule: Full-time, Year-Round; Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm; with seasonal flexibility required
Position Overview
A private couple is seeking an experienced, polished and highly dependable Executive Housekeeper / Household Assistant to take ownership of the day-to-day care and smooth operation of their Florida residence.
This is a year-round position in a semi-casual home with high expectations for cleanliness, organization, discretion and attention to detail. The ideal candidate understands private service and takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautifully cared-for home.
The Principals are typically in-residence November through April. During season, the household is more active, and the successful candidate must have ultimate flexibility with their schedule to accommodate the needs of the family. When the Principals are not in residence, the schedule becomes considerably more predictable and relaxed; however, the same high standard of care and accountability is expected year-round.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position who enjoys becoming an integral and trusted part of a household.
Responsibilities
The Executive Housekeeper / Household Assistant will take ownership of the overall condition, organization and readiness of the residence, including:
- Detailed daily and routine housekeeping throughout the home
- Maintaining bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas to a consistently high standard
- Laundry, linens, wardrobe care and coordination of dry cleaning
- Maintaining organized closets, cupboards, refrigerators and storage areas
- Monitoring and replenishing household, kitchen and personal-care supplies
- Grocery shopping, household shopping and local errands
- Maintaining household inventories and anticipating needs before supplies run low
- Receiving deliveries and ensuring items are properly unpacked and stored
- Coordinating access for approved vendors, trades and service providers
- Identifying maintenance or household issues and communicating them promptly
- Completing seasonal deep-cleaning, organization and household projects
- Preparing the residence for the Principals’ arrival and ensuring it remains guest-ready
- Assisting with additional household needs as they arise
Cooking & Meal Preparation:
Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking or meal preparation would be especially well suited for this household. This is not a private chef position; however, the ability and willingness to assist with simple, fresh meals and food preparation is an important part of the role. Responsibilities may include:
- Grocery shopping and maintaining a well-stocked kitchen
- Preparing simple meals, proteins, vegetables, sides and snacks
- Batch cooking and meal preparation
- Portioning and properly storing prepared foods
- Keeping the refrigerator organized and monitoring freshness
- Preparing or assembling meals that can easily be reheated later
- Maintaining an ongoing grocery and food-preparation plan
Seasonal Schedule & Flexibility
November–April | Principals in Residence
This is the household’s active season. The successful candidate must have significant schedule flexibility and understand that the family’s needs will dictate the flow of the workweek.
While there will be a general schedule, this is not a position for someone who requires rigid start and end times. Some days may require earlier starts, later evenings, schedule adjustments, additional errands, vendor appointments or increased household support.
May–October | Principals Away / Reduced Residence
The schedule is more relaxed and predictable during the off-season, providing an opportunity to focus on projects that can be difficult to accomplish while the household is fully occupied.
This may include deep cleaning, detailed organization, inventory, closets and storage, household projects, maintenance coordination and preparing the residence for the upcoming season.
The off-season is also the preferred time for PTO, personal appointments and planned time away whenever possible, allowing greater availability to the family during their months in residence.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is:
- Experienced working in a high-end private residence
- Mature, professional, discreet and trustworthy
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive and naturally anticipates household needs
- Comfortable working independently without a daily task list
- Flexible and understands the changing demands of a seasonal residence
- An excellent communicator
- Resourceful and willing to pitch in wherever needed
- Comfortable with grocery shopping, errands and household organization
- Someone who enjoys cooking and meal preparation
- Looking for a stable, long-term position and household to call home professionally
Above all, the family is seeking someone who takes true ownership of the residence and is looking for a long-term fit. The right person notices what needs attention, anticipates needs, creates a plan and follows through without waiting to be asked—taking the same pride in the care, organization and details of the home whether the Principals are in residence or away.
