Chauffer

The chauffeur is responsible for driving the employer, their family members and any guests to and from appointments, events, work and school.

He is also responsible for maintaining the vehicles and make sure they are clean and ready. He also may run some errands. It is not unusual to have a retired police officer in this position as some employers require some protection for themselves or family members.
